CP-Sil 8 CB

CP-Sil 8 CB GC Columns from Agilent Technologies

Agilent J&W CP-Sil 8 CB incorporates 5% phenyl groups in the dimethylpolysiloxane polymer, and so it has a slightly higher polarity than CP-Sil 5 CB. This results in a better selectivity for aromatic compounds and is generally the best choice when developing a method. A number of configurations are available including GC/MS for trace analysis and application specific columns.

  • CP-Sil 8 CB –  general purpose phase and a good choice for method development
  • CP-Sil 8 CB-ms – optimized for GC/MS applications
  • CP-Sil 8 CB for Amines – base-deactivated 5% phenyl polydimethylsiloxane column used for a wide range of amines, particularly C3-C20 and alkanol amines
  • CP-Sil 8 CB for PCB – high temperature stability and is guaranteed for the analysis of PCBs according to DIN 51527
  • CP-Sil 8 CB for Pesticides – delivers a linear column response down to femtogram levels and is tested with DDTs to provide very reliable results

CP-Sil 8 CB GC Columns

Agilent J&W CP-Sil 8 CB incorporates 5% phenyl groups in the dimethylpolysiloxane polymer, and so it has a slightly higher polarity than CP-Sil 5 CB. This results in a better selectivity for aromatic compounds and is generally the best choice when developing a method. CP-Sil 8 CB shows excellent column-to-column reproducibility and very high column efficiencies. We recommend the UltiMetal column for the highest operating temperatures, and when working in rugged environments with process or portable instruments.
  • (5% phenyl) methylpolysiloxane
  • Non-polar, General purpose phase
  • Bonded, cross-linked and solvent rinsable
  • High column-to-column reproducibility
  • Available in Fused Silica or UltiMetal to maximize choice

Similar Phases: SPB-5, Rtx-5, BP-5, OV-5, 007-2(MPS-5), SE-52, SE-54, XTI-5, PTE-5, ZB-5, AT-5, MDN-5, ZB-5

CP-Sil 8 CB-ms GC Columns

Agilent J&W CP-Sil 8 CB incorporates 5% phenyl groups in the dimethylpolysiloxane polymer and is generally the best choice when developing a method. GC/MS columns are specifically designed to chromatograph a broad range of trace-level samples, and offer low bleed and high inertness.
  • (5% phenyl) methylpolysiloxane
  • Non-polar, General purpose phase
  • Optimized for GC/MS applications

CP-Sil 8 CB for Amines GC Columns

Agilent J&W CP-Sil 8 CB for Amines is a base-deactivated 5% phenyl polydimethylsiloxane column that can be used for a wide range of amines, particularly C3-C20 and alkanol amines, due to a thermal stability up to 350 °C.
  • Base deactivated 5% phenyl polydimethylpolysiloxane
  • Optimized inertness performance for a broad range of amine compounds
  • Thermal stability up to 350 °C enables separations of amines up to C20 as well as alkanolamines
  • Base deactivated columns also available as CP-Wax for Amines

Similar Phases: Rtx-5 Amine

CP-Sil 8 CB for PCB GC Columns

CP-Sil 8 CB has high temperature stability and is resistant for continuous splitless injections. Due to the absence of cyano groups the column provides high signal to noise ratios on ECD.
    • Engineered for the analysis of PCBs according to DIN method DIN method 51527
    • Ideal for trace level ECD detection of PCBs
    • High temperature stability provides low bleed and extended lifetime

CP-Sil 8 CB for Pesticides GC Columns

Agilent J&W CP-Sil 8 CB for Pesticides delivers a linear column response down to femtogram levels. The column is supplied with an intergrated retention gap to avoid problems with solvent condensation, thus allowing repeated splitless injections without phase deterioration. In addition, because of the integrated retention gap, there is no leakage from coupling devices, thereby considerably extending column life. The column is tested with DDTs to prove exellent inertness.
    • Linear column response down to femtogram level for improved productivity
    • Excellent inertness – tested with DDTs to provide very reliable data
    • Can be used with on-column injection techniques
    • Integrated retention gap helps avoid problems with solvent condensation allowing repeated splitless injections without phase deterioration
